Research & Analysis

Below are a few examples of consulting projects. My work also includes nearly two decades of academic research on residential mobility of low-income households and decision-making about housing among local government and community leaders. These projects include a range of qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research.

Georgia Landscape Analysis

Worked as part of a team to conduct a landscape analysis related to the key focus areas of our client, a national nonprofit advocacy organization. To conduct the landscape analysis, we provided an in-depth overview of the state needed to understand the conditions for change. The data and methods for this landscape analysis included a set of methodological procedures: (1) an asset map of organizations; (2) in-depth interviews; (3) a survey; (4) focus groups; and (5) contextual secondary data. We examined several factors, including demographic shifts, employment and housing statistics. The final report included an analysis of the integrated data and a set of recommendations.

Analysis of Homeownership Post-Purchase Experience

Worked in partnership with Otto Rausch Consulting conduct a literature review of foundational and recent studies of post-purchase issues – housing quality, maintenance and repairs, and homeownership exits – to reveal differential experiences among homeowners. We examined the characteristics of post-purchase programs to identify emerging and best practices. The project included a literature review, key informant interviews, and analysis of housing quality data.

Small City Workforce Housing Survey

Project lead in the development of a workforce housing survey, including communication and outreach strategy and final report development, for a small city in Georgia to better understand workforce housing and transportation issues.
